After a hearty breakfast at the lodge, some time in the game room, enjoying the pool & hot tub, and playing Scrabble in the courtyard…it was time to head home. This was our last moment as we were leaving – both kids with huge smiles from their time well spent at Evergreen Lodge!”
EL: There’s miles of smiles after hearing how much you all enjoyed your time at the ‘green.
SG: “Our kids love the beautiful playgrounds throughout the property. Thank you Evergreen Lodge for being a part of cultivating our children’s love for the outdoors!”

SM: “We stumbled upon this beautiful gem one winter. Since then, it has become a ritual for our family to visit Evergreen lodge every Christmas.”
EL: It’s an honor to be a part of your Christmas tradition!
PL: “2023.11.05 – First time at Evergreen and hike to Wapama Falls. Much needed nature quiet time. My ears enjoyed the sounds of only my soft footsteps, the wind, the birds, and water. My eyes enjoyed miles of pure beauty that I did not want to leave. I will be back.”
EL: You’ve beautifully captured what is so great about Hetch Hetchy, and we can’t wait to welcome you back for more solitude.
LM: “One of our favorite things to do at night at Evergreen Lodge was to view the stars with our 3 year old daughter. It’s breathtakingly beautiful!”
EL: This is such a magical picture. You all should check out our Stargazing event next time you visit!
VC: “My mom spies a great cabin for our stay celebrating her birthday! 🎉🎉”
EL: This one has us laughing out loud! We hope she had a wonderful birthday stay!
CF: “We had a lovely day biking 12 miles around the Valley with our 5-year-old son. This is something my husband and I had done many years ago and we were excited to share it with our son.”
EL: We hope you all treated yourselves to a massage after that day! What a fun family adventure!
MR: “This bobcat crossed our paths 2x on the hike to Wapama Falls.”
EL: Wow! Sounds like it wanted to join you all!
AS: “My 16-year-old son and I visited Yosemite for the first time in October 2023, and stayed at Evergreen Lodge. On our first day we hiked around Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. We had the trail to ourselves. We stopped to let the beauty of this place we’d been dreaming about visiting for year sink in. I caught this moment of my son taking in the view. He’s growing into a young man, and soon he’ll be off on his own adventures. But I’ll have this moment and the memories of the time we spent in Yosemite and Evergreen Lodge with me forever.”
EL: Thank you so much for sharing this special memory. It’s incredible how these landscapes provoke wonder. We hope we get the chance to welcome you all back for many more memorable adventures.

PB: “Yosemite Falls, Merced River, June 2023”
EL: We’re going to be coming back to this picture for years to come – we still can’t believe how high the Merced River got!
AN: “Our wedding at the Evergreen Lodge October 12, 2013 just after the fire. The Evergreen Lodge was spared and although everything else around it was burned all of our friends and family gathered and we had the most wonderful weekend! We planted a tree for rebirth of the forest 🌳. Thank you Evergreen Lodge for the memories, still the best day of our lives 10 years later.”
EL: This one’s tugging at our heart strings. Words can’t begin to express how thankful we are to have been a part of this special day in your lives. We can’t wait to welcome you all back to see how your little tree has grown!
RS: “Drinking up the beauty of Yosemite Falls”
EL: How refreshing! We can’t stop smiling at this!
GM: “We woke up early to watch the sunrise from Tunnel View. It was a bit cloudy, but the view was still spectacular!”
EL: You know what they say, the early bird catches the epic Tunnel View sunrises!
MA: “This photo was taken in Camp4. Funny story behind: Due to my weight I am not able to climb a mountain. But there is this smaller rock laying in front of the bigger “midnight lightning” boulder in Camp4. If you lay on the rock and rotate your camera, it looks like you are climbing.”
EL: This is such a great tip – you had us convinced! And let us be the first to tell you that anyone can climb mountains!
JB: “Enjoying the waterfall spray at Hetch Hetchy during our Evergreen Lodge stay! We threaded the weather needle perfectly in mid April 2023: the glorious week between too much snowpack and too much snowmelt! 😉”
EL: Isn’t it wonderful when things work out that well! Hetch Hetchy is the perfect place to explore late winter, early spring.
AH: “We had the most magical family vacation. We loved staying at Evergreen lodge and exploring Yosemite. We can’t wait to go back!”
EL: We can’t wait to welcome you all back for many more amazing adventures!

We were floored by the memories shared from our Winter photo contest, Yosemite Winter Wonderland.
Our hearts are warm as we thank all who shared, and casted their votes. Your participation not only makes it fun for us, but keeps everyone #YosemiteDreaming when they need it most.
Here we congratulate the winners and share a few honorable mentions that we loved. We hope you do too!
AG: “I loved the entire experience at Evergreen but my highlight of this trip was how caring and tentative the staff was. My 2 year old burnt his hand on the fireplace and in the middle of the night, during a snowstorm, Jacob ran to my cabin, with no hesitation and forgot his radio, just to bring burn cream, bandaids, and check on my toddler. It was so kind and made my heart so happy.”
EL: We are so happy to hear our lovely front desk agent came to the rescue! Hoping the rest of your stay left you with fond Yosemite memories.
IG: “…Head here to to find the best sunsets and stargazing. We’ve been coming to the Evergreen Lodge before she was born. She even got to be the flower girl in our wedding we had at Wapama Grove. We’re are so glad we can now share Evergreen Lodge with her and her brother. We love doing the scavenger hunt and exploring the grounds.”
EL: Hearing the evolution of your family’s Evergreen experience is such a gift. Thank you for letting us be a part of your family’s special memories, here’s to many more!
SL: “We visit every winter and hope we get snow. This last trip did NOT disappoint.”
EL: What a winter miracle, we’re are so happy your wishes came true. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
ST: “We love watching the sunset at the lookout point near the Sierra cabins. We love the sound of our children sneaking out in the morning to get a head start on the zip lines. We love the fire pits starting up early because it’s never the wrong time to sip cocoa and watch the flames. We love the crafts, games, and imagination that take over when there are no movies to watch or social media to distract. We love every corner of Evergreen, every hike, every animal spotting (yes we saw a bear many years ago right outside the game room!! We’ll never recover!), and every memory. Evergreen is our actual happy place- away from the city and in the most beautiful pocket of California.”
EL: It’s an incredible honor to hear such kind words, thank you for sharing them. We feel so lucky to harbor unforgettable memorables and be a place where your family grows.
Our team literally laughed out loud at you never recovering from your bear sighting! We rarely see bears on property, and of course you would see one in or Main Plaza. What are the odds!?
MA: “Yosemite in the winter time is our favorite — the park is quiet, the air is crisp, and the lodge is cozy. We look forward to our annual trip every February to the mountains to escape from the hustle and bustle of normal life and spend some quality time recharging together.”
EL: You have “How to Stay Alive in the Woods” down to a tee! Cozy cabin, fuzzy blanket, hot drink – these are the wilderness conditions we love.
LS: “Playing in a blizzard one day and enjoying phenomenal views with clear skies and fresh snow the next day. The most beautiful winter wonderland we’ve ever seen!”
EL: Winter in Yosemite can be unpredictable, and we love when you accidentally time it perfectly. Enjoying this view after a big snow is everyone’s Yosemite winter dream!
RL: “These three have been best friends since they were toddlers, and grew up visiting Evergreen Lodge every winter together. They love the view from the Sierra cabins and the having snowball fights at the campgrounds. These three have hiked the waterfalls and the sequoias and experienced so many beautiful moments together. We are so grateful for the gem that is Evergreen Lodge.”
EL: We can’t stop smiling over this one! Friendships like this don’t happen every day and we are honored to be a part of these memories.
AA: “We had a blast during our stay at Evergreen Lodge. It was our first trip out to see snow! Who knew snow would be so cold and icy???”
EL: Are you sure this was their first snow? Because these little ones look more prepared than most!
