Cloud’s Rest Naturalist Hike
Alternative to hiking Half DomeLocals will tell you that this hike is equally challenging but more rewarding than Half Dome, with a summit that provides sweeping views of Half Dome, the Cathedral Range and Tenaya Canyon. The view from here is considered by many to be even better than from the top of Half Dome.

Yosemite’s most epic day hikeOne of the most enduring challenges in Yosemite, this day hike covers roughly 17-miles with 4,800′ in elevation gain from the Valley Floor to the summit of world-famous Half Dome. Our guides have secured a handful of Half Dome permits for this upcoming season.

Merced River Whitewater Rafting
Offering full and half day tripsEnjoy a full or half day on one of California’s best whitewater rafting paddle-boat trips. The 11-14 miles of rafting on the Merced is typically class 3 (rated 1-5, with 5 being most challenging), with a combination of memorable rapids and peaceful floats through pristine waters and scenic canyons. This trip is suitable for first time rafters, and depending on water levels, children over age 7.

They can also be used to float down Yosemite Valley’s Merced River in the summer. Pack a delicious lunch from our General Store and grab some fishing equipment from the Recreation Desk for the ultimate summer day.

Experience the night sky like never beforeFar from light pollution, you’ll be up close to nature’s light show, gazing through our Unistellar telescope. This 4.5″ aperture digital telescope stacks long exposure photos in real time to deliver breathtaking views of galaxies, nebulae, and more! Please note this activity is dependent on night sky conditions and may be unavailable due to cloud coverage or inclement weather. Our friendly Recreation Team will be able to give you more information on current weather conditions during your stay.

Taft Point & Sentinel Dome Loop
Known and loved for the most picturesque viewsThis 5.8-mile hike takes you between two stunning lookouts (Taft Point and Sentinel Dome) that gaze over the entirety of the valley throughout the majority of your hike. Once you reach the top of Sentinel Dome, you are provided with a 360-degree view of Yosemite National Park (including Half Dome and Yosemite Falls), and Taft Point allows for some of the most picturesque views of the valley’s plunging cliffs.
