Sister Property Rush Creek Lodge Groundbreaking

March 18, 2015 was a picture-perfect day for the official groundbreaking ceremony for the Evergreen’s upcoming sister property, Rush Creek Lodge, a new full-service resort opening spring 2016 at Yosemite’s Highway 120 West entrance.

Memory Lane – Throwback to 1957

I went to Evergreen Lodge in the spring of 2013 to capture and reminisce memories of the last time I was there, 56 years ago. I loved the updated cabins and the many new amenities. It is still focused on family, environment, and a great time being together.

Memory Lane – Wishes Granted

I’m originally from Brazil. I have been living in California for the past 5 years, but most of my family still lives in my home country. When I got married, my father, his wife and my sister came to stay 15 days at my house. Once they got here…

Memory Lane – Kerr Family

Our family vacationed at Evergreen Lodge in August 2007 during one of the hottest weeks of the year.  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but one of my favorite experiences was taking the excursion up to Glacier Point followed by the 4 mile hike down into Yosemite Valley.

Tavern Humito Recipe

Thanks to Susan Henry, Evergreen guest and Facebook fan, for asking for the recipe for the Humito cocktails we served at Thanksgiving that are made using Hum.

Snow Creek Yosemite Winter Hike

On December 17th, three of our Recreation Guides, Bryant Burnette, Jamie Plouffe, and I, Kevin Perry, as well as our good friend from Housekeeping, Mark Freeman, all went on an adventure in the snow up one of the toughest and steepest trails in Yosemite National Park, the Snow Creek Trail.

Wonders of Yosemite Last Saturday

Thanks to Bryant Burnette, one of our fabulous Naturalist and Backpacking Guides, for sharing these quick pics from last weekend’s Wonders of Yosemite Hike & Tour.

We’re all so excited – and relieved – about the recent snow in the Sierra.

Yes, we’re excited for winter fun to begin, especially snowshoeing among the Giant Sequoias!

We’re also relieved because the Sierra Nevada is the source for over 50% of California’s water. We need more snow to help us out of our current drought, so here’s hoping for plenty more.

As the saying goes, now we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and we’re pretty sure it’s not a train headed our way.

As for Bryant’s adventures this weekend, our Wonders of Yosemite Hike and Tour is a full day adventure touring Yosemite’s icons –

  • Yosemite Falls
  • Bridalveil Fall
  • Half Dome
  • El Capitan
  • Tunnel View

– plus a two and a half hour Giant Sequoia hike (or snowshoe). It’s a truly great way to make the most of a single day in Yosemite. If you want to know more, hike on over to the “Explore” section of this site, or just give our Recreation Desk a call at (209)379-2606 extension 3.

Enjoy!
